Position Summary:

FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY (FAU) – The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science welcomes applications for a non-tenure track Instructor position in Computer Science.  

The department, consisting of 47 faculty and 5 staff members, offers baccalaureate (800 students), masters, and PhD degrees (280 students) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. The department currently offers five MS degrees, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, and the recently launched MS degree in Artificial Intelligence.

Review of applications will begin in February 2020 and will continue until the positions are filled.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required at time of application.

Experience in software development, demonstrated commitment to teaching, and ability to teach core Computer Science courses required.

Assistant Professor
Position Summary:

FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY (FAU) – The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science welcomes applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computer Science. Candidates with exceptional research portfolios may also be considered at a higher rank. 

A minimum qualification to the position is a Ph.D. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Applicants are expected to demonstrate research excellence or potential. All research areas in Computer Science will be considered with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and its applications to Software Engineering or Cybersecurity. Successful applicants are expected to develop and sustain an extramurally funded research program and show a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.

The department, consisting of forty seven faculty and five staff members, offers baccalaureate (eight hundred students), masters, and PhD degrees (two hundred and eighty students) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. The department currently offers five MS degrees, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, and the recently launched MS degree in Artificial Intelligence. The department’s current active funding portfolio is over $7.0M, with support from NSF, NIH, DoD, DoE, DARPA, and Industry. The department collaborates closely with FAU’s I-SENSE pillar ( http://isense.fau.edu/ ). Applicants with a strong record within a focus area of the I-SENSE Pillar may be considered for a joint fellow appointment with the Pillar as well.
